Stage Left (with the exception of "Dance Of The Freek") showcases the attentive energy of a seated listening audience while Stage Right (with the exception of "Cracker Ass Cracker") explores the seatless dancing party vibe. Together, you have a decent representation of my fixation with the mutation of words and music.

Just in case you don't know, nothing was pre-recorded or overdubbed later. All sounds were created live on stage by using a technique called live phrase sampling. Basically, I step on a button, play or sing a phrase, step on the button again and it repeats what I just played or sang. Then I can layer a bass line or a drumbeat or a birdcall or whatever. It's much easier done than said so please come and see for yourself.

Stage Left was recorded at Cal Poly Theater in San Luis Obispo, CA on March, 19, 2003 except for track 7, "Dance of the Freek", which was recorded at The Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, CA on March 11, 2003.

Stage Right - tracks 1 through 5 were recorded at the Somerville Theatre in Somerville, MA on October 24, 2003; tracks 6 and 7 were recorded at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy, NY on October 17, 2003; tracks 8 and 12 were recorded at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. on November 8, 2003; track 9 was recorded at the Webster Theatre in Hartford, CT on October 25, 2003; track 10 was recorded at Theatre of the Living Arts in Philadelphia, PA on November 14, 2003; track 11 was recorded at Irving Plaza in NYC on November 15, 2003.
