This album was recorded in its entirety at The Newport Jazz Festival in Newport, Rhode Island on July 5, 1958 by special arrangement with the Directors of The Newport Jazz Festival.

Repressing on "white fan" Atlantic label - red & purple label with white fan logo in a black box.
Label lists B1 as 'The Spirit-Feel' where back sleeve lists B1 as "Hot Rod"

Notes on Runout:
- Side A - all etched except 'Ø' which represents stamped symbol that looks like an 'upside down toy boat', 'I' is stamped above '11537-B' & '1' which is stamped under 'AT' which is positioned at 3 o'clock to label
- Side B - all etched except '∐' which represents a stamped symbol that looks like 2 small vertical lines above a sideways 'U', '3' is stamped above '11538-C' & '2' which is stamped under 'AT' which is positioned at 3 o'clock to the label
